Description

The CL2-Air frame is designed for better flight footage. The front arms are swept back to keep the props out of view, so you see nothing but the air in front of you. Of course, this doesn't mean that this version of the CL2 is any less durable and will still provide the same rugged experience you have come to expect.

Nothing but Air.

DJI 03 air unit used, I get 8mins flight time running 1300mah 6s 1700kv motors. Flying without GoPro.

Good all around 5” frame. I through a GPS on the rear arm for peace of mind flying over water. GPS Angled back nicely laying them across motor wires.
I can carry a GoPro if needed. Also have plenty of space behind the Fpv camera to mount my RID module.
Check the photos.
Love this build, I can go long range over water for fly freestyle with a GoPro

Great first FPV Quad frame

This is the first real FPV 5" frame I purchased and assembled myself. Overall it's been a great experience and I was really happy with the amount of unexpected accessories included in the shipment. In particular the adhesive foam battery protector and the injection molded skid feet!

As a beginner I've crashed this thing pretty hard, and while there is some separation in the carbon layers on the front of the arms, all of the components are safe and sound and nothing is severely broken. It's been about 2 months of flying 3 or so times a week and I'm happy with my purchase!

My only qualm is that it doesn't fit a large range of 5" propellers. In my case I have to run props that are roughly 4.9" like Gemfan Hurricane 51499 in order to not hit the TPU prints that are on the vertical standoffs. It limits my choice in props more than I'd like, and is the only reason I'd consider a different frame for my next one.

Very happy overall, great price and great introduction to 5" FPV.

Never received all of my parts.

I never received my avatar single antenna version or dual antenna version antenna mounts with my frame kit. The website clearly states that they are included, but after weeks of playing email tag with rotor Riot customer service, they are stating that they are not included with the kit. And also included in the email exactly what was included clearly omitting both antenna mounts and even the stating at the end of the list that antenna and receiver mounts are not included in the kit which the website absolutely does not state. I will include screenshots of their email to me stating such, my response, and screenshots of their website at the very time I was replying to that email clearly showing those parts are included. I spent $328 in one purchase, and after weeks of going back and forth I'm still being shorted $15 worth of TPU Parts I should have received with my kit. I've always been a fan of rotor riot on youtube, but I'm sorry to say this will be the only time I ever make a purchase from their website. And on top of that, the rotor Riot Insignia on the top plate was printed far too low, and was being partially covered by the battery pad. And there's no way of putting the battery pad any different on top of the frame to avoid that due to where the screws go in the top plate. So they have quality control issues as well. I would include a picture of the top plate, but I am limited to five pictures for this review. And I need all five to show the emails. Aside from not receiving all of my parts, getting poor customer service, and having a partially covered Insignia on my top plate, the rest of the frame does seem to be a pretty good quality. So they get one star.

UPDATE: I was contacted again by Rotor Riot after posting this review. They apologized for their mistake and sent me 2 sets of props, several tpu parts and a.$25 gift card for my inconvenience. They also sent one of the 2 avatar antenna mounts I was missing. Not the one I needed, I needed the dual antenna and got the single. But with everything they sent me and an apology, I was willing to call it good and just got the antenna mount I needed straight from Noozle3D. Might have been a bit of a process, but they made it good in the end.

Hello Ritchel,

I apologize, i didn't notice you had order the CL2-Air version when i was looking through your order. I am getting those shipped out today along with some extra prints to make up for my error when responding to your email.
