Fat Shark HD Vision40 Starter Kit - 1S

This is my very first drone, and I couldn’t be happier with the Fat Shark HD Vision40 Starter Kit. Everything worked perfectly right out of the box, which made getting started incredibly easy. Don’t let the small size fool you—this little drone is powerful, responsive, and a ton of fun to fly.

If you're new to FPV, I highly recommend spending at least 10–15 hours practicing in a simulator like Liftoff Micro Drones before taking this one into the air. The sim time makes a huge difference in confidence and control.

A quick word of caution: be careful flying indoors if you're a beginner. Even though it’s a micro-sized drone, it can still cause damage or take a beating if you’re not used to the controls yet.

Overall, it’s a fantastic starter kit. Great performance, great build, and everything you need to jump into the world of FPV. I’m really impressed and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for their first drone experience.

This is a nice package deal - if you are new to the hobby, it can be daunting to pick equipment. The choices for the kit make selection easy and by price point, but you really can't go wrong with any combination; however, I recommend either the Boxer or the Pocket controller. Of the two, Pocket is cheaper and easier to use.

Both the goggles and controller will stay with you as you get new drones. Just keep in mind this is a DIGITAL setup, and will only work with drones with a digital video transmitter (so if you see the word ANALOG video on the drone, this kit will not work with it).

The Vision40 flies very nicely. The frame can take a beating, and the aircraft responds smoothly to controls. It's a great whoop drone. I flew it so much it eventually hit too many things and I damaged the the video transmitter - just nature of the game and nothing against the drone.

My one gripe, and like with all micro whoop drones, is that they are so small any repair work is going to be a real pain. This part is NOT beginner friendly, especially if you are new to soldering. I wish RR had a repair service because I would love to get my Vision40 back and running.

All in all though, great kid, takes the pain of selecting equipment and flashing the drone out of the equation and lets a new flyer get right into the hobby. Has everything you need and they put a lot of thought into it.

This is a great kit the goggles have great picture good range mine out of the bow was tuned first flight was in acro and it felt like a bigger drone not like a tiny whoop def worth it for a beginner

This little guy is really neat. From the high quality video to the speed of the whoop… it’s all around a good drone! My BT2.0 connection severed unfortunately. However that’s expected with the speeds I’ve been flying. Put some more on order and I’ll get to repairing myself!
