Description

Our latest addition to our Hypetrain motors is the Let's Fly RC motor designed with direct input from Rotor Riot team pilot Shawn Morrison A.K.A Let's Fly RC. The Lets Fly RC motor came with new designs for the bell and spoke pattern.

From Shawn:

"I wanted a motor that had the size and durability of a Le Drib motor, which was my favorite motor for over a year, but with the capability of flying 6S without a throttle cap. I also wanted to improve on the durability further. This motor has a uni-bell design with the bell made from only one piece of metal, preventing it from splitting. It also has a high amperage, thicker winding to help prevent overheating and melting the windings when trying to turtle mode out of trees and grass.

I tried out a bunch of 6S motors in the process of deciding what works best for me, to give enough power to pull out of a dive, but enough efficiency to still take advantage of the extra flight time a 6S motor can provide. I really liked the KV of the Vanover V1 motor. I also liked the extra amp handling capacity that the thicker windings provided. Those things, combined with my killer spoke pattern design and my color scheme, in my eyes, made the perfect motor for freestyle fpv."

Won't buy again

Had maybe a half hour of flight time on these before a motors went to hell, and throwing white smoke everywhere. Replaced them. Out of the 4 that's the only one that warmed up that day. Won't buy again. They came with my tanq frame.

Not sure about these motors now

They run smooth and have great power, but I have replaced more of these motors than I have the propellers on them. The first time I thought maybe it was my fault for trying to turtle mode, when i armed, maybe it was jammed and couldn't spin. One of the 4 was burned for sure with that distinct smell of burnt electic gear and 2 others were questionable sounding so I replaced all 4. I had a very minor crash, didn't even have to change props, and I tested it at hover after just to make sure nothing was wrong, and it seemed fine LOS hover. The next morning when I went out, I took off, the second I punched it, the quad fell out of the sky, so I hit disarm and let it hit. I was thinking loose prop or something since it took off and hovered fine. Then I was visually inspecting and caught a whiff of that burnt electic smell, AGAIN. I am still willing to say maybe when it went down, I didn't disarm fast enough and it jammed against an invisible something and smoked, but I was fast on the switch so I don't think so. I replaced the motor and tried again, punched it and went flying, problem solved. I think there could be a quality issue here, but I won't swear to that as.I don't have a wife basis for comparison yet, but I can tell you on my other Tanq (I have 2 Tanq 2s and a Tanq S), I replaced the Hypetrains with some way less pricey Axis motors from Amazon (one day shipping free, sorry Rotor Riot :*( ), and I have slammed this one into a dugout fence and had to unlace it from the weave, and I have pounded into in the ground and smashed some props and these Axis motors still sound and run great--a little less smooth than the Hypetrains overall, but they are seemingly holding up a lot better so far through some far harder crashes than my Hypetrains. TBC.....

Perfect motor to flow.

Good motor but this shines because fair for price and you have spare for quick changes. You can put together a drone, change one on the fly. I mean I keep solder free builds worst case put some race wire (rotor riot has most colors led race wire) . If I could fly only hypetrain (wallet dosent always, allow it, but the ones I still have have legit lasted a year a 3/4 were in lake water.. just saying not bad.
