Vision40 40mm HD Built & Tuned Drone - 1S

I got the Vision40 against the warnings of a friend because I just wanted a digital micro. It got here and I was absolutely loving it but sure enough after a few minor crashes the video feed went black and only showed me my OSD. Tried to see if the mipi cable was the problem as I have the exact issue described in a rotor riot video about how to fix it. However my cable is seated properly at both ends. My friend had this exact same issue and it was the reason he told me not to get this drone. I know I could replace some parts and get it back in the air but the parts on this drone are very expensive for a micro and I'm just not willing to do that to most likely have the thing die on me again. Really sucks to be out $300 because of this. Please learn from me and my sadness, just buy a much more reliable drone like the air65 or 75. Sure they are analog but at least they don't have an extremely well known video system issue.

I like the drone as a whole and I think that it is very durable but the bh2.0 connector came off and I had to re solder it

I thought I should provide proof that I made the purhcase, but since I can't edit reviews, I have to leave another.

I purchased a vision40 a while ago. The quad worked very briefly, I didn't even have a chance to get it off the ground. I plugged a battery in, paired the VTX and goggles, but the ELRS receiver wouldn't bind, I noticed that the solder joint for the ground had cracked and the cable was loose, I thought: "No big deal, couriers are legendary for their poor handling of packages" and just re-soldered the joint. I got a very short flight before the quad lost all power. Initially I thought that maybe there was just a bad cable or solder joint somewhere, but couldn't find it, so I reached out to customer support only to never hear back. I originally just wrote it off as a loss and figured I'd sort it out later, well now I've sorted it out. The problem was an improper solder joint on the VTX, which was sending the battery voltage onto a test pad, since I don't have a schematic I'm not sure what the test pad was connected to, but the VTX is dead as a doornail. I have confirmed that the camera is still fine, but I lost the VTX, which is $90 to replace. I'd be less annoyed if customer support had responded to my first email, but they never did. Since I have to purchase a new VTX due to a bad solder joint, I can't really give this any higher than a one star review, the quad supposedly is great, which is why I originally purchased it. But I can only comment on what I got, which is a unit that killed it's own VTX, thankfully the camera is still fine as is the flight controller, so I know that the test pad isn't likely to be to the UART 2 of the flight controller.
